This is the second product from this brand that I have had in my hands; the first was the Teufel Stereo M. The Teufel Stereo M is technically a speaker, although it is more of an all-in-one device than its shape would suggest. In Definition 3, we are talking about a passive speaker, the kind we have always known, with a modern and stylish finish. Easy to fit into any contemporary and youthful environment, although it is by no means out of place in more "serious" musical settings.
Life is a series of moments, one after another, and these speakers had a bad moment. After having the Marantz PM-10 and Marantz SA-10 duo in my living room, accompanied by the Bowers & Wilkins 805 D4 monitors, coming right after them was not the best thing for any product. I like to tell you these things because reactions are often better understood when you know the exact context of each situation. My goal is not to tell you what to think or say, but to make public my opinion and the basis on which I have reached that conclusion. If they are useful to you, they are yours; if not, you can use them as a counterpoint to your personal experiences, which are the only ones that are valid for you.
Of course.

The speaker packaging boxes are the first of many clues you will receive along the way. They are useful and simple. To understand this a little better, some packaging is designed as another part of the product. It is meant to be kept for years, as the product may be resold at a higher price if you have the original box. In this case, its function is simply to protect the product from damage during transport and ensure that it arrives at your home in perfect condition.
Once the speaker has been removed and placed in its position, a quick glance at the finish reveals nothing that stands out negatively. The type of terminals for connecting the speaker cables, the floor decoupling, the exterior finish, the transducers, etc. Everything is correct. My head is still spinning. There are no main points of attention, I'm just looking at the whole thing.

Two days after listening to random (eclectic) music, a smile begins to appear on my face. Now I understand you, we've connected. Like a Michael Jackson from a second-hand market, I do a Moonwalker and walk backwards so you can better understand my words.
There are two ways to approach product development in a company. One is from the top down and the other is in the opposite direction. It goes without saying that we can all think of brands that create their flagship product at a price that is unaffordable for ordinary mortals and then produce "inferior" versions at more reasonable prices for us. In this case, the company reduces or removes components or quality to achieve a cheaper product. In this context, there can be real "disparities" in the sound of the flagship and the inferior version, with any similarity being purely coincidental.

If development is done in reverse, it consists of "adding" better components or finishes to the final product to improve quality. Teufel uses this method, and it shows in the end result.
Although I used both speakers in a classic stereo system, there are clues that tell you exactly where the muses were at the time of the product's creation, and that is for home cinema. Three carbon fiber woofers in a 37-liter internal capacity speaker give many clues. And a very low sensitivity of 86 dB screams, "I want a lot of energy to show myself as I am!"
Teufel designs virtually all of its speaker models with home cinema systems in mind. Even when you buy their integrated speaker packs, the integrated components are audio/video.

A serious problem for stereo lovers is that these false stereos often tend to exaggerate certain frequencies to enhance the spectacular sound of movies, but this is a far cry from the more linear sound of classic stereo.
And this is where I started to smile. The Definion 3 delivers a sound that is exactly what you would expect from it. The balance it displays in all parts, without standing out in any particular way, but without spoiling any musical style either, makes it a versatile speaker suitable for any enthusiast who wants to enjoy their music, regardless of whether they like to explore the whole range of current and past styles.

When we write reviews and say that something is "recommended for opera or vocal ensembles" or something like that, it's a polite way of saying that there is a certain degree of imbalance in favor of the midrange frequencies over the other frequencies.
Teufel Definion 3 is clearly tonally balanced within its price category. There are other speakers that achieve the same effect and better quality, but the price is not comparable.
John Denver's Greatest Hits

I don't know why, I wasn't looking for it, it just appeared. The sound, the atmosphere it created in my living room, the speakers took me back years. I curled up in my chair and let John tell me about his return home, about the country roads and that American Virginia, with its deep fields and endless views, rivers and mountains. Obviously, I'm talking about "Take Me Home, Country Roads." "Follow Me" and "Sunshine on My Shoulders" are other essentials. John is one of those artists who create pleasant atmospheres and feelings with their music. They may not have great musical talent, but their lyrics make you fly high. They reconcile you with the best of yourself and dig deep inside you, searching for and bringing out only the most emotional, profound, and healthy parts. It's therapeutic, and I think we could all use a Denver session before going out or posting on social media. By the way, "Annie's Song" is missing from this album. It's a declaration of intense love that, if your partner doesn't fall head over heels for it, maybe they're not the right one for you.
Qobuz has this album in 24-bit and 192 kHz. They recently entered the Canadian market and are slowly becoming a global company. Someday I'll tell you more about them and their services.
Conclusions
Teufel is a major player in the online sale of low- and high-fidelity products. The product reviewed here is undoubtedly part of the basic high-fidelity range, although it may be undermined by the presence of other products that are not, with the same level of prominence on the website. Therefore, knowing how to distinguish between them can help you get a good product and pay a fair price for it.

Teufel Definion 3 is an honest product in every respect. It doesn't suffer from ups and downs in any musical style, or in other words, it is tonally balanced, giving a satisfying result in any situation we put it in. It is also elegant and easy to integrate into any home, as it is very unobtrusive thanks to its trapezoidal shape with rounded edges.
This is possibly the brand's best speaker to date.
